Came across few blogs about how to import svg into xaml and i do not know why they were telling to save a file into a intermediate format like epg and then again converting the resultant file into xaml. You can do it directly and it saves time and also the resultant xaml image is more sharp and accurate.
Download small but amazing free software called InkscapePortable_0.47.paf from http://www.inkscape.org/
Start applictaion & from FIle menu , open the svg file. Now, when file has opened, Go FIle menu and save as xaml. Thats it. Enjoy
PS: you can also import other image formats into Inkscape and do same to generate xaml
