I don`t know if it is being a microsoft's product thing but before i began installing service pack 2 for vista on my machine, i was thinking why I want spoil some stuff in my working good system. Curiousity kills cat ! I wanted to see what transformation happens after service pack 2. I read articles on msdn on what new service pack includes and stuff and then downloaded myself a copy and began installing
The install went fine without a glitch but when my computer rebooted the sound was gone. Also, my computer was .net framework 3.0 and i now i have to install dot net 3.5 framework (requirement of some other software i wanted to install) but that also failed. WTF, i cannot install dot net 3.5 framework after vista sp2.
Anyways the sound thing is really killing. Fortunately i found this
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948481/ and i tried changing my speakers, changed front to side speakers and voila , i can hear the sound now :)
I still have to figure the dot net framework issue yet (may be sp2 install dot net framework 3.5)
